1. Q. Can we run AOIS locally instead of using Corporate Computer hosting services?
  A. Yes, this can be done. We are very careful about doing this as AOIS is a large, integrated application that runs concurrently on six to fifteen servers and requires close monitoring. There is no cost advantage in running AOIS on your own servers.

4. Q. What if our schools want to have more documents in their files to go completely paperless?
  A. AOIS is very scaleable and can handle very large files both in tree structure and in the number of records contained in the files. We know that on the average Michigan Authorizers review between 700 and 1,000 pages of documentation for each charter school every year. Corporate Computer will allow up to 3,000 pages per school and after that point charge $.08 per page per year.

6. Q. What happens if Corporate Computer gets purchased?
  A. Central Michigan University owns the intellectual property of AOIS. We provide them with periodic source code updates so they always have executable code for back-up. In addition, CMU has a long-term agreement with Corporate Computer to provide AOIS for our clients. If a new owner met CMU's requirements, they could continue to serve Corporate Computer clients.

7. Q. Is AOIS web-based?
  A. AOIS runs in our secure datacenter using dedicated servers that are accessed through the Internet. Clients use passwords and login identification to access AOIS. It is much more secure than the average web site.

8. Q. Are my records backed up?
  A. Yes, Corporate Computer backs up changed files nightly and does full-file back-ups each weekend. In addition, we do monthly and quarterly back-ups that are retained for one year. Back-up tapes are stored off-site in a secure, humidity controlled vault twenty miles away. Tapes are rotated daily in and out of the vault.
